Before the first box: your moving checklist
A practical checklist for planning your Singapore move, from the inventory to your first-night bag.
Start with what is actually coming
Walk through each room and list the furniture, appliances and boxes you expect to move. Photograph large or delicate items. Separate anything you will donate, sell or dispose of, so the quote reflects the move you intend to make.
Confirm the route, not just the address
Check loading access, lift availability, vehicle-height restrictions and the walk from the truck to the lift. If either property has stairs or a lift landing that does not reach your floor, tell your mover before booking.
Agree on the scope in writing
Review packing, protective materials, dismantling, reassembly and any storage arrangements. Ask how scope changes will be handled. Save the agreed inventory and quote somewhere you can access on moving day.
Pack for the first night separately
Keep keys, chargers, medication, documents, toiletries and a change of clothes in a bag you carry yourself. Leave valuables out of the moving load. Label the cartons needed first so they are easy to find.
Do a final walkthrough
Check cupboards, drawers, balconies and service yards before leaving. At the new home, indicate where the larger furniture belongs and inspect items with the crew before the job is closed.
