The access details that make a smoother move
Plan HDB and condo moving access, lift bookings, loading points and building requirements before moving day.
Ask the management office early
Condo moving arrangements vary by property. Ask about permitted days and hours, deposits, lift protection, booking forms and contractor access. Confirm the requirements at both the collection and delivery properties.
Measure the route for bulky items
A sofa may fit through your front door but struggle at the lift or a tight turn. Check dimensions of bulky furniture against doors, corridors and lifts. Share clear photos with the moving team where access is uncertain.
Check the loading point
Tell the mover where the truck can stop, how far it is from the lift and whether a basement height limit applies. Longer carries and restricted vehicle access can affect labour and timing.
Allow room in the schedule
Avoid assuming you can move out, collect keys and move in within one narrow lift slot. Discuss key handover timing and a fallback if the new home is not ready. Storage may need to be planned separately.
Share confirmed arrangements
Send the crew the agreed moving slots, access instructions and a contact at each property. Keep entry passes and building approvals ready. Requirements are building-specific, so confirm them directly with management.
